   In partnership with organizations from Ukraine, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and more companies Harvatska.Vse found that the best business results in the complete reconciliation and target the interests and needs of customers and employees and all stakeholders to a common strategy. In the long run this approach can generate more profits and economic growth. This confirms that the task of management is to seek an optimal balance to meet the interests and needs of different groups.
 
 The event gathered over 100 executives representing large and small companies, business associations, public institutions, trade unions, NGOs, business advisory and support institutions and media. Greetings to the Forum headed by Mr Vasil Voinov (Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Policy), Ms. Nina Radeva (Deputy Minister of Economy and Energy), Dr. Michael Angerer (Commercial Counsellor at the Austrian Embassy), Mr. Mr. Kai Bethke (Program Manager, CSR and business ties to Central UNIDO), Mr. Neil Buhne (Representative of UNDP in Bulgaria) and Mr. Fernando Pons Canto (First Secretary of the European Commission Delegation in Sofia). 
 Special Guests who attended the event were the present Labor Minister Mr. Totyu Mladenov and  Justice Minister Ms. Diana Kovacheva

 Objectives:
Building a regional network for corporate social responsibility objectives and continuously improve sustainable socio-economic conditions and measures to protect the environment by supporting small and medium enterprises in carrying out their activities in a responsible manner.
In the longer term, the project aims to increase competitiveness and market access for small and medium enterprises in South, Central and Eastern Europe, by reducing costs, creating business partner contacts to better understand users' needs, improve productivity, quality and relations with investors.

 Expected results:
Implementation of project activities will contribute to build CSR capacity of local public and private institutions to support and advise businesses to reduce costs, increase loyalty of employees, innovative development and training opportunities for partnerships, enhancing productivity and quality.
Through the network of partnerships will provide key services, studies and evaluations, consultancy, formulation of strategies, techniques to reduce costs, training.


Conference: CSR for SMEs and advisory institutions in Bulgaria


 On 12 and 13 June 2007 in Grand Hotel Bulgaria in Sofia was held the international conference: "Corporate Social Responsibility for SMEs and advisory institutions in Bulgaria. Organizer of the conference is European Management Centre, supported by the Bulgarian Network of the UN Global Compact, the Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum (BBLF) and courtesy of Tandem Ltd. company. 

 One of the main tasks of the conference was to contribute to the wider dissemination of the idea of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and its practical application, mainly in small and medium enterprises, and establishment of a regional network of public and private partner institutions to support businesses in adapting it to the CSR strategies. During the two days of the conference the participants acquainted with the development of CSR at the global, regional and local level and discuss the introduction of various methodologies and initiatives in this direction. The event was presented updated information on issues such as ISO 26000, the Program for Achieving Responsible Entrepreneurs of UNIDO, the latest initiatives of the European Community, and the participation of the UN Global Compact in the fight against corruption.

Conference participants came to the conclusion that efforts to the wider dissemination of CSR and promoting socially responsible practices are essential for the development of business and civil society in Bulgaria.
